What We Do

Cass County Cats is a TNR group specializing in feral and stray cats. TNR stands for Trap-Neuter-Return. All cats are spayed and vaccinated before returning to their respective territories. We do not like to relocate cats unless absolutely necessary as it causes a vacuum effect on the area. TNR is the only humane method that actually works to help end the overpopulation problem. We offer financial assistance to get injured and sick strays the help they need with medical care such as antibiotics, x-rays, surgery etc. We run on donations and all members of our board actively participate in TNR, putting in long hours to monitor traps and help cats in need. We trap and transport cats to and from the vet ourselves, planing out our route weeks in advance. We do both large scale (10-30 cats) and small scale (2-5 cats) projects. We offer assistance with TNR to other groups and often work with other rescues to provide trapping and transportation services as well as help spread information on cats they have available for adoption through use of our social media to help them find home. This year (2022) Cass County Cats has bottle fed 11 kittens and funded 3 broken legs and one eye removal on stray cats. Our goal is to be able to build a cat exclusive county-wide shelter to house and rehabilitate cats in. We service all of Cass county and surrounding areas. We recently launched a low income/barn cat program to help qualified families get their personal cats spayed and vaccinated as well as to help local farms in our community spay and neuter their working farm cats. Alex our director and head of the spay team has been doing TNR since she was 10 years old and is very dedicated and passionate about this cause. You can learn more about the team, services we provide and work we have done by visiting our facebook page.
