What We Do

Senior Adults for Greater Education (S.A.G.E.™) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that custom matches community members, aged 55+, with fulfilling volunteer opportunities within their local school districts.

Utilizing the expertise of the older community members for the benefit of the schools allows all community members to feel connected and a part of the educational process! S.A.G.E is a win win win organization. The Students win, the Staff wins, and the Community wins as S.A.G.E brings people together. After the Covid-19 pandemic students are having a hard time both academically and emotionally so having an adult that can work with them on a more personal level provides a great benefit.

We recruit, train, place, and follow our volunteers through their service. Service can look like a weekly commitment of helping teachers in class or episodic volunteering on field trips, sporting events, or clubs afterschool.

Interesting Info
  • 97% of our volunteers find service so rewarding they stay with us year after year.
  • National Partnership for Student Success Supporting Champion
  • Volunteers start at 55 years of age but our oldest volunteer to date is 93.
