What We Do
Shop with the Sheriff is an annual event in Pottawattamie County that was started by the late Lieutenant Larry Brown. Each year, families are nominated by county schools for the program. Families meet Sheriff's Office personnel at Target on the Saturday before Thanksgiving for the event. Children are paired with an employee of the Sheriff's Office to shop for much needed clothing items and winter essentials, and also are able to purchase toys and fun items. Each family receives a gift certificate to purchase groceries for a holiday meal.
