In time for Giving Tuesday, SHARE Iowa is excited to offer the Prettiest Profile Prize!

Now is the time to review your profile and make sure you are ready for Giving Tuesday! Have you added photos? Make sure to include fun events or volunteer opportunities and don't forget to add a registry of items your organization needs for your day to day operations!

As the leaves begin to fall, harvest begins, and football rivalries are in full force, we begin planning for Giving Tuesday.

Giving Tuesday is the biggest day of giving locally.  Last year, western Iowa nonprofits raised over $1.3 million on Giving Tuesday.  With SHARE Iowa and the Community Foundation for Western Iowa, it is easy for the community to get involved and support your organization.

The Mental Health and Substance Abuse Fund of Southwest Iowa Fund was created to enhance the reach and capacity of our nonprofit service providers around their ability to educate the public, provide preventative solutions, and internal training to increase the capacity and ability of the providers.

The average monthly online donation is $52 ($624 per year) compared to the average one-time gift of $128. 💵

55% of people who engage with nonprofits on social media end up taking some sort of action. 

The Community Foundation for Western Iowa is now accepting grant applications through June 15 for the Women's Fund of Southwest Iowa.  

Grants starting at $10,000 are available for projects in one (or more) of the following focus areas: Education Initiatives (STEM); Accessible and Affordable Childcare; Women's Health, Safety and Well-being; and Aging in Place.

Do Good Days was April 19 – April 22nd.  During Do Good Days, SHARE Iowa and SHARE Omaha encouraged community members and nonprofit organizations to honor what doing good means to them.

Falling on National Volunteer Week, a major focus for Do Good Days this year was volunteerism.  SHARE Iowa, an initiative of the Community Foundation for Western Iowa, hosted two educational opportunities for nonprofit organizations to engage and steward volunteers as well as develop board engagement.
